Easy Mo Bee on the cut, cut.

I wasn’t able to make it over to Academy today, but still peace to the Brooklyn Legend Easy Mo Bee. He’s a major inspiration in almost every area of my creative life. His drive, attention to detail and respect for the boom bap are all things that I can relate too.
In this video (below) he goes deep into his musical life and drops a lot of jewels that can be applied across the board. Aside from waxing poetic on the many smash hits that he’s produced over the years, he also speaks on attending two classic Brooklyn schools, New York Technical College and George Westinghouse High School (attended by Jay-z, Busta Rhymes and my cousin Tah! Happy born day yo!)
Termanology
I’ve been listening to Termanology for about a year now, thanks to my dude Bobby Lopez 5mh and DJ 3d of The Underground Railroad Radio Show, here in New York.
I didn’t even realize he had music videos until today. At first, I didn’t like his music because I thought he was too much of a line biter. If you jack more than 3 popular lines from popular rappers and put them in your music..I’m usually better off listening to the original artist. Nahmean?
After giving it a real good listen during a trip to the city, I was able to understand and appreciate his rhymes and style. He’s studied his craft and and will hopefully continue to put out good music.
I’m a strictly vinyl dj, but was still amazed by Primo’s light saber turntables. Forget flying cars, thats the illest new invention. Anyone know if those things are real or just for show?
Either way, Vinyl is love.
News You Can Use: Somali Swagger.

I’ve been keeping tabs on the Somali pirates since last year. Forget gangsta rap, they are the new bad boys in town.
It’s a genuine case of David vs Goliath. You have these teens in little boats going up to giant oil tankers and jacking the ships, then holding them for months on end until ransoms are paid.
With the USA bleeding Iraq dry of its oil reserves, isn’t it only natural that other countries and people follow suit and resort to the ski mask way?
Check out these videos for a little more insight on whats going on over there.
Speaking of water, did you read that article about all the unregulated drugs that get released into our drinking water? No? Here you go.
The Funky Road Runner.
Peace to Chi Ali, who along with Da Youngsta’s were my favorite child rappers of the 90’s. Honorable mention goes to Special Ed who was also about 14 years old, when he started recording his classic first album “Youngest In Charge”. Chi’s first album, “The Fabulous Chi Ali” is also a classic to me. The beats, rhymes and concepts were excellent. Surrounded by rap royalty, he was like the Hip Hop version of Richie Rich or even Ricky Schroder on Silver Spoons.
I remember getting a severe case of homesickness while on vacation in Miami with my family, but went to the music store and found the cassette (singles!) for Brand Nubians’ “Love Me or Leave Me Alone” and the original “Funky Road Runner”(the version with the video and deeper voice was the remix ). Those tapes held me down for the rest of the trip and made me feel like I was still in the city.
It was a sad day when I got the word that Chi was on the run for shooting his ex-girl’s brother following an argument. Damn, Damn, Damn. He did manage to avoid the fuzz and get out of the Bronx though. He went into hiding and was able to lay low (pause)for about two years, before being showcased on the television show America’s Most Wanted.
Peep the Youtoobs below for his situation, in his own words.
