Reggae Vibes: Peter Tosh.

Peace and congrats to my boy Zero SC on his milestone. Peace to Nasty Vaz and TCK Krew.

I was just chopping it up with Zero about music and classic Reggae Vibes. It doesn’t get more classic than Mr. Peter Tosh. Bob Marley was the player, Peter was the gangster.

If you do the knowledge you’ll see that the man really has a song for every occasion. I sometimes zone out and listen to his tunes for hours.

Nothing takes away the ‘”after work blues” like this choice cut. Hope you overstand where he’s coming from.

Bob got all the credit, accolaids, finer women, but Tosh kept it realler than real. God bless him.

The Wire, Real Life.

I found it weird to come across this article right as I was searching Ebay for the The Wire box set.  Also, who the hell follows the ambulance to the hospital to finish the job?

Wtf is going on Brooklyn?

By JAMIE SCHRAM

July 13, 2009

A gun-toting gate-crasher killed a man after spraying a Brooklyn party with bullets, then followed a second victim to the hospital and took another shot at him, cops said yesterday.

Neighbors said the affair was a baby shower for the mother of actor Jamie Hector’s child. Hector played drug lord Marlo Stanfield on HBO’s “The Wire.”

After the carnage at the East Flatbush home on East 93rd Street just after 1 a.m., the shooter got in a car, followed one of the victims six blocks to Brookdale Hospital, then fired another round at him outside the emergency room, police said. The unidentified shooter sped away.

The 32-year-old victim was listed in critical condition at the hospital with wounds to his legs and groin.

Linton Williams, 26, who lives nearby, was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead after being shot in the head and torso.

A third victim, a 22-year-old man, flagged down an EMS vehicle after being shot in the leg. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital.

Cops said a .40-caliber Glock and a .45-caliber Smith & Wesson were found at the East 93rd Street shooting scene, where neighbors said people were enjoying a baby shower. No arrests have been made.

City Tour: Bonafide The Afro Poet.

Bonafide “The Afro Poet” Rojas, author of the critically acclaimed poetry book, “Pelo Bueno”( aka Good Hair) will be making the rounds during the month of August.

While his hair hasn’t formed an acutal “fro” in many years,  his poetry has been taking shape once again and I’m looking forward to hearing his new work as well as some classic material.

Be sure to fit the true Nuyo Rican into your schedule. Tell him Carlito Roc sent you.
