Some days even the regular rigmarole doesn’t seem so tiresome and annoying. After such an extended winter here in NYC, these sunny clear days make me want to go out, hit the pavement and get my travel on. I hope you’re having the same positive energy flow through your veins.

Charlie Ahearn, director of the hip-hop classic, Wild Style, will unveil the world premiere of Jamel Shabazz Street Photographer (June 26). Brooklyn native Shabazz published documentary photographs of hip-hop’s breakdancing, Puma-rocking early days in the international bestseller, Back in the Days, and Ahearn brings his still shots of b-boys to life with stories from Shabazz, Fab 5 Freddy and KRS-One, among others. Ahearn and Shabazz stick around for a Q&A afterward, followed by a booksigning of Shabazz’s new, 10th anniversary edition of Back in the Days, and Ahearn’s Wild Style: The Sampler.
