Q-Unique: Mr. Lopez

We last spoke of Q-Unique when he dropped the mean graffiti infused video for “Crack Era“, the lead single off of his second solo album “Between Heaven and Hell”.

For the re-up, Q the Arsonist brought it back to Bushwick for a collabo with his hermano from another madre Dstroy, who directed his new video “Mr. Lopez”.

The visuals match the pacing of the song well and bring back memories of that “fly on the wall” feel that we all got while watching season after season of “The Wire”.

The lyrics and imagery of the song itself strikes in the same vein as when Ghostface Killah set off his Fishscale album with the heat rock “Shaky Dog”.

The Crack Era.

Peace to my man Q-Unique, Asf-Tck mobb. Fly song, creative video and nice hand styles. I remember all too vividly the Crack Era. Somehow in all the madness of the mid to late 80′s and the early to mid 90′s, rap took shape and became a globally dominating music form. It’s an amazing story that I’m sure someone will get rich telling.

Anyway, check out Q’s new album “Between Heaven & Hell” which is coming out on Sept. 7th, on the Fat Beats Record label.

I wonder if he’s going to do a remix called the Fat Beats era with all the ex employees?
